Walker Morris has announced its Banking & Finance and Construction & Engineering teams have advised Kingswood Homes on the successful delivery of its flagship Green Hills development in Blackburn, Lancashire.
The 10-phase scheme, which commenced in 2018, will deliver 700 homes with an aggregate development cost of £85.7 million, featuring a range of 2, 3, 4, and 5-bedroom homes, all of which will be combined with affordable housing.
The Walker Morris team included Laura Lister (Partner), Lauren Hall (Associate), and Victoria Patterson (Head of Risk & Compliance) in the Banking & Finance team, as well as Alex Jones (Director), Ibrahim Alyas (Associate), and Andrew Dixon (Associate) in the Construction & Engineering team.
Discussing the project, Alex Jones said: “These ongoing projects are a great example of how building strong client relationships can create long-term value. They also demonstrate the importance of collaboration between developers, funders and advisors to make housing developments commercially viable.
“Our initial instruction from Homes England opened the door to working with Kingswood Homes, enabling us to support their growth and deliver much-needed housing at a time when the Government is prioritising the delivery of new housing to address the UK’s housing crisis.
“With plans to build 300,000 affordable homes over the next decade, developing affordable housing remains a key priority, and we’re proud to play a role in shaping communities through strategic advice and collaboration.”
Paul Jones, Managing Director at Kingswood Homes, added: “This development demonstrates the value of strong partnerships. Walker Morris has been a key part of that journey, providing clear, practical advice and support on both banking and construction matters.
“Their expertise has helped us overcome challenges and keep the project moving, and we’re grateful for the role they’ve played in making Green Hills a success.”
