Walker Morris advises Caddick Developments in High Court defence of Strategic Employment Development

Walker Morris has advised Caddick Developments Limited on the successful defence of a High Court challenge to outline planning permission for a major strategic employment development in Wigan.
The High Court dismissed a judicial review claim brought by Glenbrook Industrial Limited, upholding the grant of planning permission for a significant logistics and warehouse scheme forming part of a wider strategic employment allocation.
The proposed development comprises up to 360,000 sq. ft of Use Class B2/B8 accommodation, along with associated infrastructure, to support the delivery of employment space within the region.
The challenge centred on whether additional consultation was required regarding updated plans for internal access arrangements and potential connectivity between neighbouring sites. The Court rejected all grounds of challenge, finding that the claimant had sufficient opportunity to understand and respond to the proposals during the planning process.
