Walker Morris has announced its Real Estate team has advised ARGO Real Estate and Blue Coast Capital on the acquisition of two urban multi-let industrial estates in Oxford and Chelmsford for a total consideration of around £28 million.
The acquisition forms part of ARGO Real Estate’s market-leading brown-to-green urban logistics strategy, delivered in partnership with Blue Coast Capital, which focuses on repositioning well-located industrial assets into sustainable, future-proofed logistics accommodation.
The properties acquired comprise Northumberland Court, Chelmsford, and Cowley Business Centre, Oxford, totalling approximately 129,000 sq ft of logistics and industrial space. The fully let portfolio includes 12 occupational leases and was acquired from an institutional investor.
The brown-to-green platform aims to aggregate a portfolio of urban logistics assets, focusing on economically strong, densely populated UK towns and cities, with a clear emphasis on improving environmental performance and sustainability credentials.
Real Estate Partner Daniel Glowacz led the Walker Morris team on the transaction, with support from Stef Harris (Senior Associate), Sarah Cameron (Senior Associate), Siobhan Endeacott (CILEX Trainee) and Catherine Thompson (Director) in the Construction team.
Commenting on the acquisition, Daniel Glowacz said: “This latest transaction further underlines the strength of ARGO Real Estate’s brown-to-green strategy and the continued demand for well-located urban logistics assets that can be repositioned to meet modern sustainability standards.
“We’re pleased to have supported ARGO and Blue Coast Capital on another important acquisition, working closely with their wider professional team to deliver a transaction that aligns with their long-term vision for creating best-in-class, green logistics assets across the UK.”
Walker Morris has a longstanding relationship with ARGO Real Estate, having advised on the launch of its brown-to-green urban logistics platform and its subsequent acquisitions of Beckton Trade Park, London, Tuscam Trading Estate, Camberley and Harp Industrial Estate, Manchester.
