Walker Morris announces 26 promotions as firm continues to invest in homegrown talent

Walker Morris has announced 26 fee earner promotions across the business, including three new Partners, eight Directors and 15 Senior Associates, effective from 1 May.

The latest promotions span a wide range of practice areas, reflecting the firm’s continued investment in developing its people and strengthening its position as one of the UK’s leading independent law firms, acting for clients regionally, nationally and internationally.

The newly promoted Partners are Lorna Hopps (Employment), Alex Jones (Construction & Engineering) and Josh Kitson (Planning & Environment), each recognised for their outstanding client work, leadership and long-term contribution to the firm.

This year’s promotion round also includes one of the firm’s largest cohorts of Director promotions in recent years, alongside a strong group of Senior Associates promoted across multiple teams, highlighting Walker Morris’ commitment to developing talent and building a sustainable, high-performing business from within.

Jeanette Burgess, Managing Partner at Walker Morris, said: “I am incredibly proud to see so many colleagues progressing to the next stage of their careers at Walker Morris. These promotions recognise consistently high performance, exceptional client delivery and the leadership capability we continue to nurture across the firm.

“Over the last 12 months, we’ve increased our headcount significantly across legal and business services, reflecting our commitment to investing in our people and supporting the long-term growth of the firm. Both are fundamental to the strength of our offering to clients across the UK and internationally, and I look forward to seeing the impact this talented group will make in their new roles.”

Tracy Foley, Head of People & Culture, added: “Career development is central to our culture at Walker Morris. This year’s promotions reflect the depth of our internal talent pipeline and our commitment to supporting people at every stage of their career. We place a strong emphasis on progression, flexibility and opportunity, and it’s great to see that reflected in the breadth of this year’s promotions.”
