Lorna is a leading employment specialist in high value transactional work, including international acquisitions and disposals. Recent notable deals include Warburg Pincus’ acquisition of Pharma Intelligence from Informa and the acquisition of Cazoo at a value of c.$7 billion. Lorna has extensive experience of providing employment assistance in respect of management buyouts and private equity investments, and advises clients on non-executive appointments, consultancy and service agreements and negotiating the entry and exit of senior executives.
Lorna also has considerable expertise across both contentious and non-contentious employment law, advising clients across a range of sectors, including construction, manufacturing, retail, pharmaceutical and private equity firms. She has worked for large household names from the outset of her career, and this, combined with a lengthy in-house secondment to a major energy client, has given her a thorough understanding of the commercial drivers behind many of the employment law challenges clients face. She has experience of advising on a comprehensive range of employment law issues, including TUPE, redundancy, reorganisation, termination of employment, discrimination and redundancy.
Lorna has expertise in dealing with a wide variety of complex tribunal litigation, including multiparty / multiclaimant proceedings involving unfair / constructive dismissal, breach of contract / unlawful deduction from wages, whistleblowing, TUPE and all elements of discrimination, including conducting her own advocacy. She also has experience in defending appeals in the Employment Appeals Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.
