Walker Morris advises on acquisition of Cooplands from EG Group

Cooplands owns and operates two bakeries that manufacture fresh-baked products, which are distributed through its supply and logistics network to 154 stores, predominantly across the north-east and Yorkshire regions. Founded by Frederick and Alice Coopland in 1885, Cooplands employs more than 1,400 colleagues and is the UK’s second-largest bakery chain.

Richard Naish, Partner and Head of Corporate, led the team, which was supported by Simon Cuerden (Director), Marianne McKeown (Senior Associate), Andrew Dutton (Associate), Charlotte Anderson (Senior Associate, Tax) and Joshua Waddington (Senior Associate, Finance).
