Our team provides specialist advice in distressed real estate.
We work for banks and institutional and alternative lenders in relation to their commercial real estate backed lending. We also act for Administrators and fixed-charge receivers in connection with real estate assets.
We take a collaborative approach to our client work – drawing on specialisms and expertise from across the firm including insolvency and finance, real estate, planning, construction, housing litigation, commercial property litigation, and financial dispute resolution.
This joined up way of working means we can provide a full service to our clients and we really value the strength of those relationships.
Our expertise includes the following:
- management of loan account: amendment to or restatement of loan agreements, restructuring of repayments, identifying and assessing covenant breaches, preparing waivers or reservation of rights, making formal demand, redemption and discharge
- enforcement and realisation: review of security, assessing enforcement options, appointment of Administrators or fixed-charge receivers, disposal of the asset
- management of the secured asset: landlord and tenancy issues, observing planning or regulatory requirements, development and build contracts, review and consent to plot sales or leases
We’re on the legal panel for a number of banks and building societies relating to the appointment of fixed-charge receivers and we’ve built a strong network of connections with other alternative lenders, insolvency practitioners and surveyors throughout Yorkshire and nationwide.
