Helen is a Senior Associate in our Real Estate Team.

Helen acts for a variety of clients, including property investors, developers and corporate occupiers. Her work covers a wide range of commercial property matters including acquisitions and disposals, development projects, mixed use schemes, real estate finance and asset management. It is the breadth and quality of work on offer at Walker Morris that appeals to Helen. “I enjoy the challenge of getting my head around whatever lands on my desk – which at Walker Morris is never the same day to day – and working within a sector where you can physically see the end result.”

Meeting clients’ objectives is one of the aspects of the role that Helen finds most rewarding. While Helen is adept at identifying risks and unpicking complex technical issues, she also focuses on developing a firm understanding of the commercial drivers behind a transaction from the outset and is always willing to go the extra mile to get a project over the line as efficiently and effectively as possible. She understands the importance of finding solutions that not only work from a legal perspective but which are commercially viable as well and notes that “striking the right balance is key.”

Asked to describe her approach, Helen says she is technically-minded and thorough, but also pragmatic and proactive and she strives to develop good relationships with clients and deliver tailored advice in a way that is easy to digest and apply.

Helen’s working style is a great fit with Walker Morris and her enthusiasm, collaborative nature and commitment to client service is mirrored by the team around her.

Helen read English Literature at Durham University before moving to London to train at a magic circle firm. Helen relocated to Leeds at the start of 2022 having worked in London for around 7 years.
