Walker Morris part of "Tier 1" Consortium appointed to UK Government

Law firm is part of successful national consortium appointed to deliver Government legal services

Walker Morris is part of a consortium which has won a tender appointment as a Tier 1 adviser to the new Central Government General Legal Services Panel, worth £400m.

Dentons is the lead adviser of the consortium which includes three sub-contractor firms: Walker Morris, Bircham Dyson Bell and Kennedys.

The national tender was part of a bold move by Her Majesty’s Government to consolidate and reduce its previous panels from almost 50 firms to 12 Tier 1 firms and 6 Tier 2 firms.

Head of the Energy, Infrastructure and Government Group at Walker Morris, who worked on the initiative with Chris Woodthorpe, Partner Real Estate, said:

“Her Majesty’s Government set out a new approach to the delivery of its legal services through building effective relationships with a limited range of high quality providers with the intention of driving efficiencies and improving service delivery. We are delighted to be part of a successful consortium which recognises our strength and depth across a wide range of specialist legal expertise, including a successful history of working in and with the public sector.  As a national firm based in the North, we are particularly well placed to support Government initiatives and requirements that are focused in the North including the New Industrial Strategy.”

“Collaboration is one of our core values and at the heart of what we do. The success of this consortium is an excellent example of how collaborative solutions can deliver excellent outcomes.”
