Walker Morris were awarded the Vice Chancellor’s Cup for their fundraising efforts at the Leeds Legal Walk 2021.
Organised by Access to Justice Foundation Yorkshire and supported by Leeds Law Society, the Leeds Legal Walk sees legal professionals and members of the judiciary walking 10k to raise funds to improve access to justice in Yorkshire for the most vulnerable in society.
Walker Morris entered four teams in total, a paralegal team, a trainee team, a recoveries team and a team that was joined by David Barraclough, co-organiser of the event (with Sue Harris of Walker Morris) and Catherine Woodward of Gordons LLP and President of the Leeds Law Society. The four teams raised a total of £1,768.75.
“We are honoured to have received the Vice Chancellor’s Cup in recognition of our fundraising efforts at the 2021 Leeds Legal Walk. The Leeds Legal Walk raises vital funding to be able to provide much needed free independent legal advice to those who are vulnerable and in need of legal representation.”
The next Leeds Legal Walk will take place on Monday 27 June 2022. It starts at 5pm outside Leeds Combined Court Centre and ends with a reception provided by Leeds Beckett University (Leeds Law School) at the Rosebowl. Sponsorship raised by participants on the 10km walk will help to secure vital funds for this important cause. If you would like to join, please contact Sue Harris via email@example.com
