Valeo Foods to acquire Freshers Foods Ltd

Walker Morris supports leading international food business on second acquisition in a month.

Specialist food & drink lawyers at Walker Morris have supported Valeo Foods on its acquisition of Freshers Foods Ltd, an experienced traditional pork scratching manufacturer based in Wigan that manufactures under its own brand, Openshaws, as well as co-manufacturing for the Snaffling Pig Co & Awfully Posh brands.

Following the acquisition, Freshers Foods will continue to operate as a separate trading entity.

Based in Ireland, Valeo Foods is a leading international food business with a portfolio including Rowse Honey, Kettle crisps, Batchelors and Jacobs biscuits.

The transaction is the latest in a string of acquisitions for Valeo Foods. Earlier this month the team advised on the acquisition New World Foods Europe and in December the team advised on the acquisition of IAG (It’s All Good).
