Groceries Code Adjudicator highlights industry-wide issues at Walker Morris Food & Drink Dinner 2022

Mark White presents the GCA’s survey results at the 8th Walker Morris Food & Drink Leadership Dinner

Mark White, the Groceries Code Adjudicator, presented the results of the latest GCA survey at the 8th Walker Morris Food & Drink Leadership Dinner.

Over 40 leading figures from the food and drink sector attended the dinner to learn more from the Groceries Code Adjudicator’s 2022 survey results and network more generally.

Mark White drew out the industry-wide issues including the impact of inflation, de-listings and forecasting errors highlighted by the results, which were only published earlier that day, and some of his priorities for the year ahead.

Commenting on the dinner, Corporate Partner and Head of Walker Morris’ Food & Drink Team, Richard Naish said:

“On behalf of everyone at Walker Morris and all our guests, I’d like to thank Mark for sharing his insights from the GCA 2022 survey.  Yet again, it was fantastic to have such a high profile speaker from the industry at the dinner.

Thanks also to all our guests who attended. Having been unable to hold this event for the last two years, we were delighted to be once again able to network and discuss key industry issues in person. The success of our Food & Drink Leadership Dinner is a result of the eminent speakers we’ve been honoured to host, together with the support from our clients and contacts in the sector. I’d like to thank everyone who attended for continuing to make the dinner such an enjoyable evening.

Walker Morris has invested a huge amount of time and effort in getting to know and understand better the food and drink industry, and it is very rewarding to be able to host senior participants and stakeholders.”

Previous speakers at the Walker Morris Food & Drink Leadership Dinner have included: Archie Norman, Chair of Marks & Spencer; Heather Hancock, then Chair of the Food Standards Agency; Mike Coupe, then Chief Executive of Sainsbury’s; Jim McCarthy, then Chief Executive of Poundland Group plc; and Andrew Higginson, then Chair of Morrisons.
