Food & drink sector gather to discuss challenges and opportunities facing the sector

Walker Morris, Lloyds Bank and Investec host event for leading influential figures

Leading influential figures from the food and drink sector attended a discussion and dinner at Bowcliffe Hall, Wetherby, on the challenges and opportunities faced by the fast moving consumer goods sector (FMCG).

Walker Morris, Lloyds Banking Group and Investec jointly hosted the dinner last night for over 30 leading figures in the industry, which was opened by a presentation from Investec’s Consumer Research Analyst, Nicola Mallard.

Nicola has over 25 years’ experience researching FMCG companies of all sizes with in depth knowledge of the consumer space and financial modelling.  She presented some of the key issues that food and drink manufacturers need to consider to stay ahead in this dynamic sector including how investors value companies in the sector and the ‘mega trends’ affecting the industry.

Richard Naish, Head of the Food & Drink Group at Walker Morris said:

“The food and drink sector and FMCG by its very nature is constantly evolving at a rapid pace. The dinner and discussion allowed leading influential figures in the industry to debate the topics in a relaxed setting. Nicola’s experience and calibre provided valuable insight on the key issues, challenges and opportunities facing the sector and encouraged a thought-provoking and insightful discussion.

“The event forms part of a series of tailored events we offer our food & drink clients and contacts as part of our value add programme.”

Walker Morris’ specialist Food & Drink team runs a series of focussed events for the sector including its Food & Drink Leadership Dinners which have become well established on the industry calendar.
