As part of our Future World of Work series, we’ll recently held a webinar panel discussion exploring how changes to the way we work are opening up opportunities for commercial property development and explaining how planning consent for such development may be easier than you think.

Our panel, chaired by Chris Woodthorpe, Walker Morris, compromised of external guest speakers who covered:

  • Afshan Iqbal, Leeds University Business School – provided an overview of the key findings from their research and implications for home/office working
  • Caroline Paradise, Head of Design Research, Atkins –  looked at the key implications for the commercial property market and design of office spaces / how we use office spaces
  • David Hodgson, Head of Strategic Development, CEG – discussed trends in commercial property particularly the conversion and redevelopment of old offices and redundant office and retail spaces
  • Graham Whiteford, provided practical advice on planning law.
