Yorkshire Climate Action Coalition (YCAC)

What is the Yorkshire Climate Action Coalition (YCAC)?

The Yorkshire Climate Action Coalition (YCAC) is a group of businesses in and around Yorkshire who collaborate to help one another become more sustainable and have a positive impact in the region and beyond.

Chaired by Walker Morris and Deloitte, YCAC boasts over 100 members from across a range of commercial and industrial sectors, from household names to regional businesses, from manufacturing and heavy industry to financial services and energy specialists.

Membership is open to all businesses looking to proactively engage with the sustainability agenda and be at the forefront of the transition to a green economy; businesses wishing to collaborate with peers in the region to drive climate action and achieve their own and shared goals in sustainability.

What are the key climate issues and what action can we take?

As environment, social and governance (ESG) considerations increasingly feature on every business’s agenda, YCAC shares knowledge, expertise and solutions across a wide range of climate and wider ESG issues where together we can make a positive impact.

Issues tackled by YCAC include:

  • Net Zero and the role of hydrogen
  • The future of the office in a green economy
  • EV charging infrastructure
  • Employee engagement in sustainability
  • Managing stakeholders on the road to Net Zero
  • Green finance
  • Carbon literacy

How does the Yorkshire Climate Action Coalition address these issues?

Members share a common desire to address the climate challenge through taking action.

YCAC activities are geared towards creating networks and collaborations that make a meaningful difference to the region and beyond through:

  • helping members define, accelerate & achieve their own respective carbon reduction & sustainability goals
  • inspiring members by sharing knowledge, stories, challenges, experience and expertise
  • realising new business opportunities arising from the transition to a net zero economy for our members, our region and our communities

Whether it’s sharing best practice or creating the connections that enable positive action, YCAC looks to empower its members with the tools they need to make a positive difference and inspire change in others.

What are the benefits of joining the Yorkshire Climate Action Coalition?
