Lewis is a Partner in our Real Estate Litigation team. With over 15 years of experience advising public and private sector clients, Lewis specialises in complex property disputes and is a trusted advisor on matters involving the Building Safety Act (BSA), telecoms, and landlord and tenant litigation. His work spans sectors including retail, development, and government, where he is known for delivering commercially focused solutions to high-stakes issues.

Lewis has a strong track record advising national retailers, developers, and local authorities on contentious property matters from lease renewals and dilapidations to telecoms disputes under the Electronic Communications Code. He is particularly recognised for his leadership in BSA litigation, having acted in the first remediation order application issued by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG)  and subsequently on further “landmark” BSA cases.

Experience

Acted in the first remediation order application under the Building Safety Act by the Secretary of State for MHCLG.

Represented the Secretary of State in 12 remediation order applications, including the "landmark" Vista Tower case.

Represented a tenant of a former warehouse tenant in relation to a £20m+ dilapidations claim

Acted for two premier league football clubs in respect of disputes under the Electronic Communications Code

RG Securities No.1 Limited - Acting for a building owner in defending an application for a remediation contribution order (RCO) application issued under the Building Safety Act 2022 providing importance for leaseholders and other applicants seeking to pursue claims under section 124 of the BSA 2022.

Represented Unite Group in defending an application for a remediation order pursuant to section 123 of Building Safety Act 2022 (first known application for a remediation order concerning an operator of student accommodation)
