Leanna is a Director in our Regulatory & Compliance team. With a career that spans both private practice and in-house roles – including at a major high street bank – she brings a strategic, solutions focused approach to complex regulatory challenges, particularly in the consumer finance space.

She is a trusted adviser to a broad range of financial institutions, including high street banks, building societies, fintechs, motor finance providers, and alternative lenders. Leanna regularly leads on high value, business critical matters involving FCA permissions, drafting compliant documentation and policies, advising on compliance issues and large-scale remediation programmes. Her detailed knowledge of the legislative framework and FCA Handbook and its practical application is frequently sought after by clients navigating regulatory change and scrutiny.

Leanna is known for her ability to cut through complexity and deliver clear, commercially grounded advice. She works closely with senior business stakeholders to align legal and regulatory strategy with business objectives, and is valued for her collaborative style, commercial insight, and ability to anticipate regulatory risk.

She has supported clients in developing innovative financial products and services, helping them navigate regulatory requirements and bring new ideas to market in a compliant and commercially viable way.

Leanna contributes to the development of industry thinking as an editor of Butterworths Financial Regulation Service and Practical Law’s consumer credit materials, and is actively engaged with many trade associations, helping to shape policy discussions and regulatory developments across the sector. Her experience also includes contributing to regulatory reform discussions with HM Treasury, adding valuable perspective to policy development.
