Ibrahim is a Senior Associate in our Construction & Engineering team. He specialises in advising on both contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering matters.

Ibrahim works with a wide range of clients across the supply chain, operating in various sectors. His clients include developers, main contractors, subcontractors, and consultants. He advises on a range of non-contentious matters, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts, consultant appointments, novation agreements and collateral warranties.

His contentious work includes advising clients at all stages of disputes, including pre-action, litigation (including matters before the Court of Appeal), adjudication, and mediation. Ibrahim regularly advises on disputes ranging from modest sums to claims worth tens of millions of pounds.

Ibrahim is known for his straightforward advice and strong commercial awareness. He is committed to achieving his clients’ objectives by taking the time to understand their businesses and delivering pragmatic, commercially focused solutions.

Outside of work, Ibrahim is a committee member of the Forum for Tomorrow in Leeds, an initiative that brings together professionals from across the built environment sector. He is also involved in mentoring schemes with two local universities, supporting and developing aspiring lawyers.

Experience

Acting for developers, contractors, and subcontractors in adjudications and the enforcement of adjudicators’ decisions, including an adjudication enforcement that proceeded to the Court of Appeal.

Advising a main contractor on a multi-million pound claim against a structural engineer arising from errors in structural design calculations.

Advising an owner of student accommodation on fire safety related defect claims across its portfolio of properties.

Drafting and negotiating construction documentation for Homes England in connection with multiple developments across the UK.

Acting for a real estate investment manager in the preparation and negotiation of construction documentation across multiple phases of refurbishment works within its portfolio.
