Meet Amy's team

Amy is an Associate in our Restructuring & Insolvency team. She has been part of the legal industry since 2009, initially working as a Client Relationship Manager. In 2019, she qualified as a solicitor, undertaking a unique hybrid role as an in-house solicitor for an investment fund management company, while also supporting national insolvency practitioners as an external advisor.

Amy specialises in a broad range of contentious and non-contentious insolvency matters, advising on both corporate and personal insolvencies. Her work includes:

  • Statutory Demands, Winding-Up Petitions, and Bankruptcy Petitions, including contested matters.
  • Advising officeholders on all aspects of their duties and powers.
  • Acting in applications under the Insolvency Act 1986 and Insolvency Rules 2016.
  • Advising on the appointment and validity of Administrators and LPA (Fixed Charge) Receivers.

Deals:

  1. Supporting British Business Bank with creditor winding-up petitions. These involved government-backed convertible loans ranging from £125,000 to £5 million, aimed at supporting UK-based companies experiencing financial distress as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
  2. Acting for a UK-based insolvency litigation funder, where a wide range of insolvency claims under consideration for funding or acquisition were reviewed. Conducted litigation on behalf of the funder (or appointed Liquidator) involving antecedent transactions and breach of director duty claims.
  3. Acted for insolvency officeholders across a wide range of matters, including:
  • Applications for possession and sale, suspension of discharge, and private examination.
  • Enforcement of personal guarantees, Charging Orders, and Writs of Control.
  • Block transfer orders, administrator extensions, and remuneration approvals.
