Alastair is a Director specialising in both contentious and non-contentious construction legal work. Alastair has extensive experience in non-contentious construction and engineering matters, including drafting and negotiating building contracts, mechanical and electrical engineering contracts, process plant engineering contracts, sub-contracts, forms of security, appointments and collateral warranties/third party rights. Alastair advises clients in respect of all methods of procurement and works with JCT, NEC, MF/1, IChemE and bespoke forms of contract.
Alastair is also experienced in dealing with contentious construction matters in a wide range of dispute resolution proceedings in the UK, including litigation in the Technology and Construction Court and adjudication. He regularly advises clients on the effective management and resolution of issues and disputes as and when they arise during the course of construction projects.
In the 2018 edition of Legal 500 Alastair is named as a “next generation lawyer”, with commentators noting that he is “remarkably capable relative to his year of qualification”. The current edition of Legal 500 states that Alastair is “a precociously good lawyer and a skilled draftsman.”
