Walker Morris announces Dementia Forward as Charity of the Year 2025/26

Walker Morris is proud to announce Dementia Forward as the firm’s Charity of the Year for 2025/2026.

Dementia Forward is the leading dementia charity for York and North Yorkshire, providing support, advice and information to anyone affected by dementia across the county. Formed in April 2012 by an experienced team with deep expertise in dementia, Dementia Forward has developed a comprehensive range of services that place people living with dementia at the heart of everything they do.

Each year, Walker Morris invites colleagues to nominate and vote for the charities they would like to support throughout the year. Dementia Forward stood out for its local impact, breadth of services, and commitment to community-based care.

The firm’s Charity Committee is ready to collaborate with the charity to raise awareness, funds, and meaningful support throughout the firm.

Walker Morris has a full calendar of fundraising and awareness activities planned for 2025/26, including a quiz night, a “sip and paint” event, and the ever-popular Christmas Raffle.

Discussing the announcement, Meghan Halligan, Chair of the Charity Committee, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Dementia Forward. Their local expertise and compassionate services make a real difference to people living with dementia and their families. Our committee is eager to get started and to bring colleagues together around fundraising and volunteering activities.”

Amy Senior, Fundraising Lead at Dementia Forward, added: “We’re honoured to be chosen as Charity of the Year and grateful for the support this partnership will bring. Community partnerships like this help us expand our reach and continue delivering vital services to people across York and North Yorkshire.”

In 2024/25, Walker Morris supported the Limbo Foundation, raising an impressive £8,484.
