Best Companies recognises Walker Morris as a great employer

Walker Morris becomes one of only 10 UK law firms to have achieved a 1 Star accreditation in the Best Companies ‘b-Heard’ employee engagement survey

Walker Morris has been awarded a 1 star accreditation in the latest Best Companies ‘b-Heard’ employee engagement survey – recognising its continued investment in becoming a great employer.

Walker Morris is one of only 10 law firms to achieve a 1 Star accreditation in the latest Best Companies survey. The 1 star accreditation reinforces its commitment to being considered a forward-thinking and innovative place to work for its employees. Best Companies describes the 1 star accreditation as ‘a significant achievement that shows an organisation is taking workplace engagement seriously and signifies ‘very good’ levels of workplace engagement,’ based on employee feedback across the whole organisation.

Best Companies is the UK’s biggest employee engagement survey provider and is most widely known for researching the Sunday Times ‘best companies to work for‘ lists. Best Companies has researched in excess of 3.5 million employee opinions across thousands of organisations and measures employee engagement across eight key areas, ranking each organisation with a score.

The Firm has continued to make a number of investments to improve employee engagement including: the introduction of agile working and shared parental leave, a review of pay and benefits, investments in training and development, and encouraging employee empowerment through the employee led charity committee, employee forum and social committee.

Tracy Foley, Head of HR commented:

“We are delighted to have been awarded a 1 star accreditation from Best Companies. It is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the investment that Walker Morris has given to employee engagement over recent years. The accreditation reinforces our commitment to improving the working lives and practices of our employees and is the result of our sustained focus on talent engagement.”

“The feedback from the survey provides us with a baseline to build upon key areas for improvement. Identifying and setting benchmarks to measure our performance will allow us to keep moving forward as an organisation and continue to create an environment that makes our employees feel motivated and engaged. Ultimately, we believe happier employees help us to attract and retain the best talent, whilst at the same time making us more resilient and flexible as an organisation.”

Walker Morris has also been ranked 5th in the UK of top law firms in a recent survey by Legal Cheek for the opportunities we offer our trainees and junior lawyers for secondments. As part of the Legal Cheek Trainee and Junior Lawyer Survey 2017-18, the publication asked over 2,000 respondents whether they had participated in a client secondment.
