Walker Morris will appoint all 14 of its second year trainees when they qualify this year. This represents a 100% retention rate for the Firm and reinforces its position as one of the region’s leading legal graduate recruiters.
The 14 newly qualified solicitors will be taking up positions in a number of departments across the Firm including commercial contracts, construction, corporate, energy, infrastructure & government, real estate litigation, commercial dispute resolution, real estate and regulatory.
Walker Morris currently has 32 first and second year trainees and over the last few years has invested heavily in the training and selection programmes including offering a unique 6 seat training programme instead of the standard 4, ensuring trainees gain an in-depth insight into the key areas of law as well as having invaluable contact with partners and clients.
Graduate partner, Duncan Lole commented:
“We are delighted to be able to retain 100% of our second year trainees following their qualification later this year. This outstanding retention rate is testament to both the qualifying trainees who have demonstrated their ability and breadth of experience and the Firm which continues its investment into future talented individuals who are able to provide the highest standard of service for our national and international clients.”
Walker Morris continues to reinforce its leading graduate employer position by having previously been nominated as the ‘Best Trainer National/Large Regional Firm’ at the LawCareers.Net Awards 2016. The awards recognise the leading law firms in training and recruitment and rewards consistent excellence in this sphere.
Walker Morris has also been recognised for the third consecutive year by Best Companies, ‘b Heard Survey’ in recognition of its continued investment in becoming a great employer. The survey is the UK’s biggest employment engagement survey and is most widely known for researching the Sunday Times ‘Best companies to work for’ lists.
