Virtual and in-person events terms & conditions

By accepting the invitation to join our virtual or in-person event (the ‘Event’), you agree to the following terms and conditions outlining the rules for participating in the Event hosted by Walker Morris LLP (we/us/our). If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not participate in the Event. For the avoidance of doubt, these terms and conditions apply irrespective of whether you physically attend an Event, or whether you attend an Event remotely/virtually. Where indicated, these terms and conditions only apply where you (i) physically attend, or (ii) attend virtually.

Limitation of Liability

Your participation in the Event is entirely voluntary, and you assume all risks associated with it. Walker Morris LLP disclaims any liability to the fullest extent permitted by law. This includes, but is not limited to, any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your participation in the Event. Walker Morris LLP is not responsible for any errors, omissions, or outcomes resulting from the use of information provided during the Event.

Information and Content

The content presented during the Event is intended for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. For specific legal advice tailored to your situation, please arrange a consultation with a partner or solicitor at Walker Morris LLP. The information shared during the Event is based on current laws and regulations, which may change over time. Walker Morris LLP does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information provided.

Recording

Participants are strictly prohibited from creating any audio or video recordings  or live streaming the Event. This prohibition applies to the entire Event presentation, discussions, and any content shared by Walker Morris LLP, presenters, or other participants. Unauthorised recording or distribution of the Event content may result in legal action and exclusion from future Events hosted by Walker Morris LLP.

Privacy

We collect personal data such as your name, email address, job title, and any other relevant information you provide during the registration process or during the Event. Your personal data will be used solely for the purposes of managing your attendance at the Event, sending you updates, developments, and event information, and responding to your enquiries about our services. We may also use your data for post-Event communication, including direct marketing, unless you opt out. Where Walker Morris LLP co-hosts an event with another organisation (third parties), business contact details (name, job title, business contact number and business email address) will be shared with participating third parties for marketing purposes.

Photos and/or videos will be taken at the Event, and if the Event is online, sessions may be recorded. This includes (but is not limited to) print, our website, social media platforms and press releases.

Technologies used

We use Cisco Webex, a third-party service not owned by Walker Morris LLP, to host our virtual Events (Webinars). By participating in the Webinar, you agree to Cisco Webex’s terms of service and privacy policy. Please refer to Cisco Webex’s services agreement and privacy statement for details on how they will process your personal data. Walker Morris LLP is not responsible for any issues arising from the use of Cisco Webex.

Changes to the Event

Walker Morris LLP reserves the right to make changes to the Event content, schedule, or any other aspect of the Event at any time. Participants will be notified of any significant changes in advance. Walker Morris LLP is not liable for any inconvenience or loss caused by such changes.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the content presented during the Event, including but not limited to presentations, slides, and materials, are owned by Walker Morris LLP or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of the content without prior written permission from Walker Morris LLP.

Feedback and Questions

We welcome your feedback and questions regarding the Event. If you have any comments or enquiries, please contact us at events@walkermorris.co.uk. Your feedback helps us improve our future Events and services.

Termination

Walker Morris LLP reserves the right to terminate your access to the Webinar at any time if you violate these terms and conditions. Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the Webinar content and destroy any copies you have made.
