This will be achieved within an ever changing regulatory framework driven from within the UK and Europe presenting new compliance challenges and requirements for change. It is our responsibility to provide straight forward commercial and strategic advice to help you interpret and meet the new opportunities in education.

Managing Complex Projects
Working to a tight schedule we advised on the £75 million major campus redevelopment for Burnley College in conjunction with the University of Central Lancashire (Uclan). This was the largest scheme constructed in the North under the previous Government’s Colleges Capital Building Programme and was time critical. This project was a ground breaking, high value development involving university and college institutions. It has established a new site for the College and an East Lancashire Campus for the University
We have worked closely with Bury College on all its property and development work over the last 12 years. The College has spent in excess of £35 million on its estate over eight phases. Throughout all these major developments, we have supported the College on all aspects of the new build process including OJEU procurement, building contract and associated documentation. Our approach to the Beacon Centre was particularly innovative as we introduced a VAT saving structure and the savings were reinvested in the project.
We have acted on over 25 Academy conversions providing expert assistance during the process, working to a fixed budget and tight timetables. Price certainty and experience are of real value to institutions during this relatively new process. We are pleased to work with a number of these institutions post conversion on all aspects of legal service provision.
"Professional and courteous, Walker Morris provided sound legal advice which was backed up by access to a highly skilled and well experienced team."
