Further draft regulations on shared parental leave and pay have been published. The new scheme will apply to parents of children expected to be born or placed for adoption on or after 5 April 2015 and is expected to come into force on 1 October 2014. The Government has confirmed that it is currently working on a range of information and guidance which will start becoming available from the summer. This is good news for employers as time will be needed to digest the detail and logistics of the system and also to amend internal parental leave policies and procedures where necessary.
