TUPE Regulations in force from 31 January 2014Print publication
It has been a long time coming but the new TUPE regulations are now finalised and set to take effect from 31 January 2014. New BIS guidance has also been published to accompany the new Regulations. The majority of the amendments contained in the Regulations will apply to transfers which take place on or after the implementation date of 31 January. There are, however, two transitional provisions to note, as follows:
- The change in the time limit for providing employee liability information from 14 to 28 days pre-transfer will only apply to transfers which take place on or after 1 May 2014
- The relaxation of the information and consultation obligations for micro-businesses will only apply to transfers which take place on or after 31 July 2014.
