Owen joined Walker Morris as a paralegal in 2004 and after training with the firm qualified as a solicitor in the Commercial Finance department in 2009. Owen is now a Director advising on all aspects of commercial finance. His primary specialism is real estate insolvency acting for receivers, insolvency practitioners, institutional lenders, and other stakeholders on the restructuring and realisation of corporate real estate lending.
Owen also acts for both lenders and commercial borrowers on the negotiation of bilateral facility agreements, and the re-organisation of financial and security arrangements, and is part of the Firm’s Sports Team acting in the sale and purchase of professional sports clubs.
Owen has direct experience of a commercial recoveries department having spent three months in-house with an institutional lender. He has also acted for the administrators of a property developer in relation to a collective enfranchisement claim which established new law in the Court of Appeal.
