Owen Ormond

Owen trained with the Firm and qualified as a solicitor in the Commercial Finance Department in 2009. Owen is now a Director advising on all aspects of non-contentious banking, restructuring and insolvency. His specialises in and leads the team’s real estate insolvency practice acting for institutional lenders, investment funds, fixed-charge receivers, insolvency practitioners, and other stakeholders on the restructuring and realisation of corporate real estate lending. Owen is responsible for a significant CRE caseload for the UK’s largest debt fund, and for advising one of the UK’s largest challenger banks on the workout and restructure of its first defaulting loan accounts.

Owen also acts for both lenders and commercial borrowers on the negotiation of bilateral facility agreements, and the re-organisation of financial and security arrangements. He is also part of the firm’s Sports Team acting for a number of professional football clubs in obtaining third-party finance, and has acted both buying and selling side in the acquisition of Football League clubs.
