‘Walkers Walk’ to raise money for Bone Cancer Research TrustPrint news article
On Saturday 24 September, a team of fundraisers from Walker Morris took part in ‘Walkers Walk’ to raise money for the Firm’s chosen charity of the year for 2016-17, the Bone Cancer Research Trust.
The 15 mile walk began at the Walker Morris offices in the city centre and followed the Leeds and Liverpool canal, finishing in Saltaire. Half way along the route, at the Railway Inn in Rodley, the Walker Morris Team met up with the representatives from the Bone Cancer Research Trust to continue the walk together.
As the Team made their way along the canal they continued their fundraising efforts by collecting donations from a passing canal boat. One of the team members had a narrow escape from falling in trying to receive the donation!
The team comprised Clare Wood, Cathy McIntosh (and family), Gareth Thompson, Hayley Finnerty (and family), Hayley Stubbs, Ian Gilbert (and Hugo the dog), Justin Coley, Leah Hunt, Lucy Elliot, Molly Scott (and family), Nicole Smith, Rebecca Austin-Heath (and family & three dogs) and Tracy Crossley with special thanks for Jennifer Mann who helped with the preparation for the walk but was unable to do it on the day.
If you would like to sponsor the team you can still do so at www.justgiving.com/walkermorris/
Other fundraising activities that the law firm has taken part in throughout the year include employees running the Great North Run, cake sales, a raffle week and dress down days.
