Walker Morris shortlisted for 'Corporate Team of the Year' at The Lawyer Awards

Walker Morris has been shortlisted for ‘Corporate Team of the Year’ at The Lawyer Awards 2019, which celebrate the best of private practice, in-house and the bar.

This year, over 60 judges from across the industry debated entries from law firms, companies and barristers chambers.

Walker Morris is one of nine firms to be shortlisted for this category, details of which can be found here.

Being nominated for the shortlist follows a busy and successful year for the Team and its clients. During a 4-month period last year, the Team advised on three £100m+ IPOs including: £100m IPO TheWorks.co.uk, the £103.5m IPO of Knights Group and the £130m IPO of SimplyBiz. In particular, during the same fortnight that the IPO of TheWorks.co.uk Plc was completed, the £74.5m acquisition by Endless of Menzies Distribution from John Menzies plc was announced.

In total, in 2018, the Team advised on £1.5bn worth of deals. As a result Walker Morris was ranked by Bloomberg Global Mid-Market M&A 2018 in the top 20 UK firms by deal value and was the only ranked firm which was not based in the City.
