Walker Morris has advised the shareholders of meat suppliers Forza AW and Kober on the sale of the two companies to Asda after a successful five-year joint venture.

The UK’s third largest supermarket has acquired its two key meat suppliers which solely produce Asda’s own-label cooked meat and bacon products.  The deals have been completed through Asda’s subsidiary, International Procurement and Logistics Limited (IPL), which runs the supermarket group’s whole produce retail business.

The two sister companies employ around 1,800 people between them and in 2014 Forza AW’s turnover exceeded £300m and Kober’s turnover rose £1.4m to £140.9.
