Walker Morris joins the Northern Powerhouse Partnership Programme

Law firm reaffirms commitment to delivering expertise from Northern headquarters

Walker Morris has joined the Northern Powerhouse Partnership Programme, underlining its commitment to delivering the highest quality legal expertise from its northern base.

The Partnership Programme is an essential part of creating the Northern Powerhouse – a network of partners who all believe strongly in the economic potential of the North, and support the need for a combined effort by Government and business to realise that potential.

The Programme aims to jointly promote the strengths of the North, as well as new and exciting developments, in four key areas:

  • Connectivity and transport
  • Skills, science and innovation
  • Quality of life and culture, and
  • Devolution.

As a member, of the Northern Powerhouse Partnership Programme, Walker Morris has confirmed it support to the programme and to help inspire and encourage investment in the north. Walker Morris occupies a distinctive position as the largest single site UK law firm outside London and one of the largest invested solely in the North and therefore the ambitions and aims of the Programme resonate firmly with the vision and values of Walker Morris.

Ian Gilbert, Managing Partner added:

“Having chosen to develop a single site centre of excellence in Leeds, serving major organisations from across the UK and internationally, we are committed to helping drive the Northern Powerhouse agenda forward. It is part of the firm’s ‘distinctive’ brand to market the north of England as an effective and creative base for producing legal and business services of the highest quality.

“As a firm we have focussed on developing specialist practice areas, which provide first class legal advice, to lead and support complex, multidisciplinary transactions within the Northern Powerhouse.”
