Walker Morris Director, Sue Harris, appointed as Deputy President of Leeds Law SocietyPrint news article
Sue Harris, a director in the Walker Morris Construction & Engineering Group, has been elected as Deputy President of the Leeds Law Society following the Society’s AGM in May.
Commenting on the appointment Sue said:
“It has been a busy and productive year for the Leeds Law Society, and the Board has continued to work really well together to further the aims of the society and to raise its profile locally and nationally.
“I would like Leeds Law Society to continue to become more involved in issues that directly affect the profession (such as the level of professional indemnity cover, cuts to Legal Aid and the impact of the Jackson Reforms), along with issues such as the training of future solicitors. It is important to keep looking at international links and opportunities for our members, through working with Leeds and nationally based organisations.
“During my term of office I will continue to facilitate better connections with local district judges and the court service via our Court Liaison Group and do what I can to help promote Leeds as a premier legal centre.”
Sue has more than 20 years’ experience of dealing with commercial litigation disputes involving areas of law which include, construction, engineering, professional negligence, contractual and shareholder disputes, fraud and contentious probate.
She has been involved in a number of high profile and high value cases and has extensive trial experience, acting for both claimants and defendants. She has also run a number of cases under conditional and discounted fee agreements.
