Walker Morris announces second senior appointment in a month with appointment of James Crellin as director to banking team
Walker Morris has announced the appointment of James Crellin as a director to its Banking & Finance Team to enhance its client service offering for complex finance transactions.
The news follows the firm’s announcement last month that it had appointed DWF’s former Head of Equity Capital Markets, Daniel O’Gorman, to its Corporate Group.
James joins from the Birmingham office of DLA Piper where he practiced in the Finance Team. With over a decade of experience in acquisition finance, real estate finance and general corporate lending work, he has advised many of the main clearing banks as well as acting on the borrower side for a number of major corporate organisations.
Michael Taylor, Head of Banking at Walker Morris, commented:
“As a firm we work hard to focus on recruiting highly talented people throughout our organisation to offer the highest calibre lawyers, with strong commercial awareness and who understand our clients’ business. James has extensive experience in the banking market and his recruitment is a clear demonstration of our commitment to maintaining our national reputation as one of the leading banking teams in the region, with true strength in depth.”
With three partners and a further 14 lawyers the Walker Morris banking team is one of the largest dedicated legal banking teams in the region and services a national and international client base from its single site in Leeds. Last year the Team advised Karro Foods on its £74 million funding package and advised Hargreaves Services Plc on its £110 million renewal of banking facilities.
