Walker Morris appoints Malcolm Simpson as new Managing Partner

New era for Walker Morris as Simpson drives practice forward.

Walker Morris has announced that Malcolm Simpson will be the Firm’s new Managing Partner with effect from 1 May 2018. Malcolm will take over at the end of April next year when Ian Gilbert retires, bringing an end to his 8-year tenure as Managing Partner.

Malcolm brings 17 years of experience as a partner in the Commercial Disputes Team at Walker Morris and has in-depth understanding of the Firm’s operations through his position as IT partner, during which he oversaw a multi-million pound investment in the Firm’s IT systems and infrastructure.

He is also the former Chair of the Firm’s International Committee and was a judge for three consecutive years for The Lawyer European Awards. As a long-standing head of Walker Morris’ US practice, he is a trusted adviser and relationship partner to global corporations headquartered in the US and Europe, as well as leading UK companies in the manufacturing, housebuilding and construction sectors.

Commenting on the appointment Ian Gilbert said:

Earlier this month Ian Gilbert was awarded the Yorkshire Legal Award for Managing Partner of the Year in recognition of his contribution to Walker Morris and the legal profession.
