Walker Morris achieves record donation in its 10th annual Christmas gift appealPrint news article
Walker Morris employees have donated over 150 gifts to Leeds charity, Zest Health for Life, in its annual Christmas gift donation – its highest number to date.
Each year Walker Morris employees are asked if they would like to make a voluntary donation of a Christmas gift to a nominated charity. Since the law firm started the programme in 2003 it has gone from strength to strength.
This year Walker Morris is working with Zest Health for Life, which offers support and opportunity to people living in disadvantaged areas of East Leeds. The Charity provides a wide range of activities aimed at promoting health, community development and community cohesion.
Maureen Lillywhite from Zest Health for Life said:
“Thanks to everyone at Walker Morris who took the time to buy an extra present this year. We work closely with a lot of disadvantage families in Leeds providing much needed support. Christmas is always a difficult time for them so these gifts will make a huge difference. We asked for presents for children aged 5-15 and in particular for older children who often don’t receive as many donations. The response has been fantastic!”
Louise Power, partner at Walker Morris and head of corporate social responsibility said:
“We’ve run our staff Christmas gift donation for a decade now and it really has captured the hearts and minds of our employees. The response from our staff has been overwhelming this year. I think with all the stresses of a modern day Christmas we all appreciate the opportunity to help those less fortunate.”
