Strong performance in Chambers and Legal 500 reinforces Walker Morris position as top law firm in LeedsPrint news article
The 2014 edition of Chambers & Partners has been published and Walker Morris retains its position as the leading law firm in Leeds.
Walker Morris is ranked in 27 areas, the highest of any Leeds law firm, including five UK-wide rankings for Administrative & Public law, Education, Local Government, PFI/PPP and Retail. The firm also picked up new rankings for its specialist areas of professional negligence, social housing and education.
The firm is also ranked as a national leader (outside London) in five practice areas comprising Corporate/M&A, Litigation, Planning, Real Estate, Restructuring/Insolvency.
The Chambers rankings follows similar success in the latest Legal 500 UK guide published last month. The Legal 500 guide to the legal profession awarded 12 partners at Walker Morris the status of ‘Leading Individual’ – the highest number of any law firm in the region. A further 32 partners and consultants were identified as leading lawyers in their specialisms. This achievement is reinforced by a strong performance across the Firm, with 31 practice areas recommended, 23 of which are ranked in either Tier 1 or Tier 2
Ian Gilbert, Managing Partner at Walker Morris commented:
“We are delighted to have our position as a top tier firm reinforced in the latest rankings from Chambers & Partners and Legal 500. It is particularly pleasing to see that although we operate from our single site in Leeds, our reach and expertise is being increasingly recognised on a national and international basis with rankings in both UK-wide tables and national leaders (outside London).
“Furthermore, the quality of our people was also recognised with 45 of our lawyers being awarded the accreditation of being leaders in their fields. We believe the quality of our people is a key factor in ensuring our continued success as is our commitment to continue to invest in specialist areas to support our clients.”
