Kate Webster’s appointment reinforces national leading practicePrint news article
Senior appointment continues Firm’s strategy to invest in high-calibre expertise.
Kate Webster has been appointed as a Director to the Walker Morris Energy, Infrastructure & Government Team, reinforcing its position as a national leading public sector practice.
With over nine years’ specialist experience, Kate has a strong track record working with both the public and private sectors advising on all aspects of complex contracts, particularly procurement, for major capital projects, regeneration schemes, energy and energy efficiency schemes.
One of Kate’s key strengths is her commercial focus which she has gained after a number of prestigious roles, including in-house at a Danish Infrastructure company delivering the tendering process and commercial contracts for the €5.5bn Fehmarnbelt tunnel project in Denmark. In addition she has undertaken secondments (while in private practice) with OFWAT, British Gas and NHS BSA, advising on a wide range of matters including procurement law compliance, commercial contracts, CSR and supply chain policies and regulatory price reviews. This in-house experience has given her a rounded perspective and a ‘solution-focussed mindset’.
David Kilduff, Head of the Energy, Infrastructure & Government Team commented:
“We are delighted that Kate has joined the team, which represents a real coup for the Firm. Her skill set and experience reinforces the substantial specialist expertise we have in this practice area. The combination of Kate and our existing team of lawyers provides us with a stand out offer for clients operating in this sector.
“Kate’s appointment is part of a continued expansion for the team as we will be looking to strengthen the team further with an additional appointment later in the year.
The appointment is the fifth senior appointment this year for the Firm having recently appointed Corporate Partner Daniel O’Gorman, Commercial Partner James Crayton, Banking & Finance Director James Crellin and European Trade Mark Attorney Jennifer Good.
