Double accolade for Corporate LawyersPrint news article
The Corporate Department has scooped accolades in two separate research reports.
Walker Morris corporate partner Debbie Jackson has been listed as one of The Lawyer’s Hot 100 Lawyers in its annual research report.
The Lawyer’s Hot 100 recognises lawyers across the country for their innovative and inspirational work and is the culmination of months of research by The Lawyer’s editorial team into candidates’ client work and contribution to their firms and the profession.
Debbie was recognised for her national and international client base, specialising in a full range of corporate work, including specialist deals in the retail, financial services and technology sectors.
Debbie’s reputation as a leader in her field has enabled her to win a number of new clients. Last year her deals included: search engine optimisation company Branded3, which was bought by St Ives Group; international retailer Damartex on its acquisition of Coopers of Stortford for £25 million; the acquisition of Wage Day Advance Limited by Speedy Cash (USA); and most recently, InTechnology, which sold subsidiary InTechnology Managed Services to Redcentric for £65m.
Debbie’s achievements come on the back of the Walker Morris Corporate Department being recognised as one of the most active legal advisers in the Yorkshire M&A market in 2013 in a new report unveiled by Experian.
Walker Morris was ranked second in the region in terms of deal volume and had three of its deals listed in the region’s top ten by deal value including the acquisition of Wage Day Advance and the sale of Intechnology Managed Services Limited mentioned above.
The announcements follow a successful 2013 for the Department with Head of Corporate John Hamer being voted as the ‘Corporate Lawyer of the Year’ and overall ‘Dealmaker of the Year’ by Yorkshire Business Insider at its eagerly anticipated annual Dealmakers Awards.
