Not quite the Premiership title race but almost with as much drama and competitiveness, the Walker Morris Charity Football tournament saw eight teams battle it out in aid of Hyde Park Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade – the Walker Morris’ nominated charity for the year.
Pre-tournament favourites, Asda, took home the trophy and were unbeaten throughout the tournament cruising to a victory to beat Colliers International in the final and take home the trophy. The home team from Walker Morris finished in a very respectable third place with AFC LBG being awarded fourth. Thanks also go to the other teams: Drax, PwFC, On Yer Eddisons and Hyde Park Drop In; for their sterling efforts.
The event raised over £400 for Hyde Park Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade, which encourages boys and girls in the Hyde Park areas of Leeds to participate in a programme of activities, events and camps including badge awards and sports. The Tournament is part of a series of fundraising events that the firm is organising on behalf of the association.
Each year Walker Morris employees are asked to nominate and vote for a local charity to be the firm’s nominated Charity for the Year.
