BDO Leeds relocation to landmark developmentPrint news article
A multi-disciplinary team of specialist real estate and construction lawyers at Walker Morris has advised accountancy and business advisory firm, BDO, on its relocation of its Leeds office to Central Square on Wellington Street.
After 10 years at Bridgewater Place BDO, which employs nearly 150 people in the region, will be moving to a new 12,750 sq ft office on the sixth floor of the landmark development in spring 2017. The offices will provide BDO with space to allow an open working environment that encourages collaborative and flexible working.
Nick Cannon, partner at Walker Morris, commented:
“We have been appointed by a number of leading professional service organisations across Yorkshire and the North West in recent years to handle their landmark office moves. These moves are testament to the confidence in the future of Leeds as a major hub in the economy and reinforce our own reputation as a leading law firm trusted by large well-respected organisations.
“We’ve delighted to support BDO in the relocation of their landmark Leeds offices, which signals BDO’s long-term investment into the growth of the Leeds business district and future planning for changing work patterns.”
Terry Jones, Partner and Head of BDO in Leeds, added:
“We were looking for a space that would give us room for growth and placed us at the centre of the Leeds business district. We’re committed to the region, which is thriving, and the active role Yorkshire plays within the North.
“Remaining within a few minutes walk of the station was a priority for us but we’re also mindful that the world of work is changing and digital connectivity for the team, clients and colleagues in the wider BDO network is essential.
“Our teams work together for clients across streams and sectors; the new office will give us more leading edge technology, flexibility with our layout and greater collaborative working space to facilitate this.”
