Insider online forum: Humber Freeport

26 March 2021, 11.00am – 12.00pm

As the intended freeport sites across England have now been allocated, Insider will host this online forum featuring stakeholders of the Humber plan as well as key national advocates.

Over an hour’s discussion they will tell us about the concept of freeports, how they work and importantly how the eight sites have the potential to power international trade in a post-Brexit landscape and encourage innovation in manufacturing and logistics.

Linked to Insider’s national freeports campaign, viewers of the free forum will learn who potential occupiers of the site might be, the benefits they will receive, what industry sectors they will represent and the efforts being made to secure further OEMs and generate supply chain opportunities.

Public sector partners will set the opening of the site in the context of regional economic priorities, the job creation and skills requirements. We will also hear what steps can be made to ensure that the site does not just attract companies moving from within the region.

And we will ask how the local transport infrastructure will serve the freeport and if any additional investment is required.

We look forward to welcoming you on the 26th March.
